Locorotondo stands on a limestone hill and owes its name to its unusual circular plan.

From its lookout you can admire a wonderful landscape: a mosaic of vineyards, stone walls, olive groves, ancient masserie and trulli.

In the old town, everything is nice and intimate: the whitewash envelops everything, underlines the details of the baroque architecture, made of local stone and enhances the color spots of flowering balconies.

The characteristic pointed roofs made of gray chiancarelle stone, called cummerse, soar up the facades of the houses, which have inside a typical star vaulted ceiling.
